This past week we were able to approve another home for fostering!
This gives us (5) homes, but as you know with the size of our shelter
more is needed. Let me know if you or someone you know can foster
an animal.
July
, 2008 - The new animal shelter design has been unveiled!
The new state-of-the-art facility will be located at 3727 Valley
View Ln. Groundbreaking for the new Farmers Branch Animal Adoption
Center is anticipated by the end of Summer 2008 with the projected
grand opening in March 2009. This information and more about the
animal shelter can be found at the city's web site here: http://www.ci.farmers-branch.tx.us/
March
8th , 2008 - All of our dogs and cats that were at the
adoption were adopted! 5 dogs and 2 cats. Plus another kitten was
adopted through the shelter due to the on-site adoption. This is
a great success, lets keep on saving lives!
February
23rd, 2008 - Today at WalMart went fairly well. The wind
did just seem to hang in there. We were able to place Lady Lab,
the female lab we have been trying to find a rescue for! Also our
little female rabbit (Coco) found a home with a employee of WalMart.
The first time we were there a WalMart employee adopted two of our
kittens. The employee's seem to be our best customers! Special thanks
to Barbara and Kelly for joining us to help. Barbara is wonderful
with the cats and Kelly is especially great with dogs, we were a
balanced group today! Thanks to Louise and all the men at the shelter
for their part in our efforts.
Welcome
to our newest volunteers, Kelly and Ashley. We are glad you have
joined us and appreciate you wanting to make a difference for our
sheltered friends.
We
are still in the process of being approved for partnership with
PetCo on Josey Lane. The manager there as you know has graciously
provided coupon books for saving with proof of adoption from our
shelter or off site adoptions. Until we have the partnership we
have been grated permission by the property manage to hold an adoption
in the parking lot.
Plans
are underway for the new shelter, the physical address is 3727 Valley
View Lane. Designs are being discussed, with any luck ground breaking
will be August or Sept. of this year. Anyone knowing of a business
that might be willing to donate carpet, tile, lighting, etc, please
let me know. We would of course have to go through Council, but
donations are excepted!! And of course the City would provide a
tax deduction for the donation.
April
27th, 2008 - Give Em Shelter fund raiser at Gussie Park.
Arfriend (a well known rescue group) Cause for Paws and the City
are joining hands to promote and raise additional funds for our
new shelter. While funding has been given, there are always more
expenses and etc when building any new facility. Cause for Paws
is excited about helping and developing the fund raiser to benefit
our new shelter in response to the city's commitment to our animals.
Please put this date on your calendar as we will need a lot of volunteers
for this event! Also if you know of any one/company that would be
willing to donate (tax free) to our "silent auction" event,
please contact us as soon as possible.
We also have a $250.00 tier and a $500.00 tier to sponsors who would
like to have their names printed on the back of the event t-shirts
to show support(also tax free).
